Monster Hunter Generations trên 3DS là phiên bản kỷ niệm đặc biệt, tôn vinh dòng game với nội dung khổng lồ: cho phép săn tại 4 ngôi làng kinh điển (Kokoto, Pokke, Yukumo, Bherna) và giới thiệu 4 quái vật chính mới (Fated Four). Game nổi bật với 4 phong cách săn (Hunter Styles) và tuyệt kỹ (Hunter Arts), cho phép chơi cả Prowler (mèo). 

Chi tiết nội dung chính:

• Nhiệm vụ đa dạng: Hệ thống nhiệm vụ phong phú từ các phần trước, bao gồm thu thập (hái hoađào đất) đến săn quái vật từ cấp thấp đến cao (Hub/Hunter's Pub).
• Quái vật mới (Fated Four): Giới thiệu Glavenus, Astalos, Mizutsune, và Gammoth, cùng các biến thể đặc biệt.
• Lối chơi đột phá: Giới thiệu 4 Hunter Styles (Guild, Striker, Aerial, Adept) và hệ thống Hunter Arts (tuyệt kỹ đặc biệt) mang lại trải nghiệm chiến đấu nhanh và mãn nhãn hơn.
• Chế độ Prowler (Nyanta): Lần đầu tiên người chơi có thể nhập vai trực tiếp vào Palico (mèo đồng hành) để chiến đấu, thu thập và hỗ trợ mà không tốn Stamina.
